we ll spell that out later for you on the show. what have you heard from the white house about what is the point of purpose behind meeting with the pope? is it simply because the president s in rome? i think it s something it s interesting. we ve known g-20 was going to be here for several months. for longer than that. since the president took office, certainly. and there was no question when the president landed in rome, he was going to meet with the hope. he goes to church every sunday. he is a devout catholic. he s also very protective of his faith. he understands when it comes to abortion and reproductive rights, he s in a different place than the church. that is a problem obviously, particularly with particular catholics, conservative catholics, and where the vatican sits on this issue. white house officials make clear that this something he s discussing on a regular basis. two, what pope francis represents on several other issues, very much align with where the president is t
we have the capacity to give people a sense of hope. if they stay where they want to stay in the town, in the neighborhood, in the place where they grew up where they speak the language they know the culture, they go to that church every sunday, the place where their grandmother lives. we know that if we give them a sense of hope that help is on the way that they ll follow their first preference, which is to stay-at-home. during the course of this trip, i have met people of all walks of life. i met with members of civil society. i met with youths. i met with members of labor. i met with farmers.
