Election authorities in Gujarat are planning to boost voter turnout, especially among women, in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections by sending over 20 lakh invites to voters across the state. The initiative will focus on polling stations where the gender voter gap is over 10% and where the turnout was below 50% in the last elections. Gujarat s Chief Electoral Officer, P Bharathi, will send invitations to mainly women voters, urging them to vote with their families. The state s 26 Lok Sabha seats will go to polls in the third phase on May 7.
