State Trooper Involved in Two-Vehicle Accident in Traverse City April 20, 2021 A two-vehicle crash involving a state trooper occurred at the intersection of Hammond Road and Garfield Avenue in Traverse City Monday afternoon. The trooper was responding to a personal injury crash near Chums Corner with emergency lights activated. As the trooper approached the intersection, he collided with a truck that couldn’t see the police car due to the stopped traffics. The car and truck both sustained heavy damages, and the trooper was taken to Munson Hospital as a precaution. The other driver refused medical treatment. This crash remains under investigation.
