The trooper was responding to a personal injury crash near Chums Corner with emergency lights activated. As the trooper approached the intersection, he collided with a truck that couldn’t see the police car due to the stopped traffics. The car and truck both sustained heavy damages, and the trooper was taken to Munson Hospital as a precaution. The other driver refused medical treatment. This crash remains under investigation.

A news release says the settlements were worked out with the owners of Cork in Anoka and Neighbors on the Rum in Princeton after they were named in lawsuits for violating the ban on indoor, on-premises dining that was enacted in November as COVID-19 cases were peaking in Minnesota. Both restaurants have agreed to comply with all current and future executive orders pertaining to the businesses. Any future violations would result in a civil penalty of $25,000.

That represents about 46 percent of the total number of the COVID vaccine doses that have been shipped to providers in Minnesota. In Olmsted County, the number of people who have received at least one dose of the vaccine is now close to 20,500 and about a quarter of those people have had both shots. The percentage of the local population that has had at least one shot of the vaccine is up to nearly 13.5 percent.
