After 50 years, new Middleboro High School to open on April 27

MIDDLEBORO  Two years and a month after the beginning of construction, the new Middleboro High School is ready for occupation.  “We are very pleased with the work of the design, management and construction teams, and the end result is a truly lovely and very useful facility that should make the town proud,” said Rob Desrosiers, chair of the Middleboro High School Building Committee. Spring break is this week, but by next week, April 27, students, faculty and staff will be inside the new building, though still on a cohort hybrid schedule for most until the state decides on a timetable for grades 9 to 12, which will probably be in May.

Middleborough School Building Committee leads tour of new high school

Middleborough School Building Committee leads tour of new high school Standard-Times (The following article was prepared and submitted by the Middleborough School Building Committee after a tour of the new Middleborough High School Building on Sunday, Feb. 21. This coverage is a cooperative effort between the School Building Committee and The Middleboro Gazette. Gazette Editor Jon Haglof attended the tour and served as photographer for this report.)   The New Middleborough High School is nearing completion after two years of construction. The School Building Committee is expecting the building to be at substantial completion on April 2, when it will be turned over to the School Department for final preparations for student occupancy. The much-anticipated move from the old building to the new will take place over the week of April school vacation, with students returning to classes in all new surroundings.
