Battle Creek Police Investigate Stabbing Death on Main Street
Battle Creek Police are looking for answers today after a 43-year-old Battle Creek man was found dead in a driveway early Wednesday morning. Police said in a release that Christopher Dykstra’s body was discovered about 12:30am in the 300 block of Main Street. Dykstra appeared to have a single stab wound to his chest, and was pronounced dead at the scene.
A knife was located nearby, and police talked to an 18-year-old man who was near the scene, and believed to be involved. The preliminary investigation showed the man may have acted in self-defense, resulting in Dykstra’s death.

BATTLE CREEK, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – Battle Creek Police say they are investigating the death of a 43-year-old man which took place in the 300 block of Main Street.
Police report they found Christopher Dykstra of Battle Creek lying in a driveway at around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday morning.
He appeared to have a single stab wound to his chest and was pronounced dead at the scene. A knife was found nearby.
An 18-year-old male who was believed to be involved was near the scene and interviewed by police.
The preliminary investigation showed the man may have acted in self-defense, resulting in Dykstraâs death.

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. - On Wednesday, a man was stabbed to death in Battle Creek.
Christopher Dykstra, 43, was found lying in a driveway on Main Street near the intersection of Cliff Street.
The Battle Creek Police Department investigators believe the 18-year-old man may have acted in self-defense.
The case remains under investigation as authorities await autopsy results.
