This week the chief and mayor laid out their plans to fix that. This unusual snap has experts wondering if youre going to be able to enjoy their beauty at all. News 4 Christian Wright live at the basin with more information from the National Park service. In dec. A firefighter recovering right now northeast. We went up in flames this morning. Krist kristen, what did he have to say . Reporter we talked to her and she got the call on her way to work there was a fire in her building. We talked with sources who had inside knowledge of whats inside the building here. We understand they restored historic items, possibly from the u. S. Capitol building. Of course, serious concerns about this fire over night but we understand that everything that they were working on was saved. We are just very thankful. Thankful because it could have been a lot worse if firefighters did not get here the minute they did. We got a lot of wood in there. Northeast dc was on fire with all kinds of flammable things inside. There is a lot of fire trucks. Firefighters battled this one for an hour and a half.
