Controversial ending in nightcap leads to Demon sweep on Saturday McNeese Baseball (Source: KPLC) By McNeese Sports Information | May 9, 2021 at 9:01 PM CDT - Updated May 9 at 9:01 PM NATCHITOCHES – A controversial call in the bottom of the ninth inning took what appeared to be a win away from McNeese in the second game of Saturday’s doubleheader against Northwestern State, and two innings later, the Demons walked off with a 6-5 win to capture the Southland Conference series three games to one. With McNeese leading 4-3 in the ninth and the tying run on third base, Cowboy relief pitcher Christian Vega appeared to have struck out a Demon batter swinging for the third out to capture the win. But as the Cowboys emptied the dugout to celebrate the win, the third base umpire ruled the batter foul-tipped the ball and extending the at-bat.

Cowboys fall 5-4, 6-4 to Sam Houston on Sunday McNeese Baseball (Source: KPLC) By McNeese Sports Information | April 18, 2021 at 9:47 PM CDT - Updated April 18 at 9:47 PM HUNTSVILLE, Texas – McNeese got off to a slow start offensively in both Southland Conference baseball games against Sam Houston on Sunday and the result was a sweep at the hands of the Bearkats for the second straight day as the Cowboys dropped all four games on the weekend. The 5-4, 6-4 losses dropped the Cowboys to 18-18 overall and 12-11 in league play while Sam Houston improved to 19-16 and 15-9 in the conference.
