Arkansas placed 79 student-athletes on the 2023 Spring SEC Academic Honor Roll as part of a total of 1,454 student-athletes in the Southeastern Conference.
No. 1 Arkansas set a record in terms of total entries for the 2023 NCAA Championships with 44. Starting on Wednesday the field of 48 in individual events at the NCAA West Preliminary rounds, hosted by Sacramento State, will start to be trimmed to 12 by Friday’s second rounds.
In spite of inclement weather on Saturday at Bernie Moore Stadium, the No. 1 Razorbacks still had a productive day as they prepared for a return trip to the venue for the SEC Championships in two weeks.
A pair of meet records in the discus and shot put were bettered by Razorbacks Ralford Mullings and Rojé Stona on Friday at the John McDonnell Invitational. Mullings won the discus with a throw of 199 feet, 2 inches, while Stona set a career best of 65 feet, 10.5 inches in the shot put.
The Razorback 4 x 400 relay advanced to the NCAA Championship field on time from a 3:03.95 season best performance while three other individuals advanced to Eugene during Friday’s action in front of 1,529 fans at John McDonnell Field.
