Kansas Athletics announced today that the Kansas Relays are scheduled to return to Rock Chalk Park on April 13-15, 2023, when KU will celebrate the 100th anniversary since the first running of the Relays in 1923.
Kansas track and field assistant coach Tom Hays was named the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) men’s Midwest Region Coach of the Year on Friday, marking his second career Midwest Region Assistant Coach of the Year honor.
MANHATTAN, Kan. – Kansas added two more individual Big 12 Champions on the final day of the Big 12 Outdoor Championship in Manhattan, Kansas on Sunday, including Zach Bradford in the pole vault and Rylee Anderson in the high jump.
The Jayhawks finished with three individual Big 12 Champions throughout the entirety of the meet, including Bradford (pole vault), Anderson (high jump) and Gleb Dudarev (hammer throw). The Kansas women finished fifth as a team with 77 points, while the KU men finished seventh with 63 points.
Texas won both the men’s and women’s team titles, as the Longhorn women scored 207 points and the Texas men scored 173 points.
The Kansas men’s and women’s track and field teams compete in the Big 12 Outdoor Championship at R.V. Christian Track in Manhattan, Kansas this weekend as the Jayhawks compete amongst the best in the conference.
LAWRENCE, Kan. – The Kansas men’s and women’s track and field teams close out the regular season portion of their 2021 outdoor campaign this weekend when they travel to the Ward Haylett Invitational in Manhattan, Kansas May 6-8.
The Jayhawks are expected to send a contingent of entries throughout the three-day meet, which starts on Thursday evening with several field events beginning at 4 p.m. The meet continues into Friday beginning at 5 p.m. and Saturday beginning at 10 a.m
The Ward Haylett Invitational marks Kansas’ 10
th meet of the outdoor season, before competing in the Big 12 Outdoor Championship in Manhattan May 14-16. The Jayhawks will then send qualifying entries to the NCAA West Preliminary in College Station, Texas May 27-29 and the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Oregon June 9-12.
