ALBUQUERQUE – The Rio Rancho High School baseball team survived a late Piedra Vista rally and advanced to the Class 5A championship game in the state baseball tournament after a 6-5 win Friday afterno.
Cleveland residents and elected officials gathered at Public Square Saturday, Transit Equity Day, to raise awareness for equitable public transit improvements.
Marvetta Rutherford of Cleveland has been riding Greater Cleveland RTA for more than 50 years and said recent bus, and bus station violence has her demanding the transit system look at additional ways to improve safety.
The redesign, dubbed NEXT GEN, set its debut for Sunday, June 13, and is followed by a week of free rides. It was created to provide more efficient and consumer-friendly service.

Cuyahoga County Executive Armond Budish has finally appointed a regular transit rider to the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority s Board of Trustees. This week, the county s HR and appointments committee officially confirmed Roberta Duarte, downtown resident and project manager at JumpStart, as the RTA s newest board member. She replaces outgoing member Justin Bibb, currently a candidate for Cleveland Mayor.
Duarte, a native of Paraguay, serves as the Vice President of Cleveland s Young Latino network. She has described herself as an avid user of public transit.
