BRIDGEPORT A well-known restaurant owner, at the center of allegations that former Police Chief Armando Perez tried interfering in an investigation into the sexual assault of a 16-year-old girl, has been charged with bribery and hindering the investigation.
John Vazzano, a former Barnum Festival ring master and owner of Vazzy’s restaurants in Bridgeport, Fairfield and Monroe, surrendered to State Police at the Rocky Hill Police Department on Wednesday morning after being notified there was a warrant for his arrest.

Bridgeport police investigate fatal stabbing on city s East End

BRIDGEPORT Police are investigating a fatal stabbing Monday on the city’s East End.
Police confirmed that a man was found fatally stabbed in the torso in a home on Alex Street shortly after noon.
Police Lt. Chris LaMaine would only say that it is a suspicious death and was under investigation.
Alex Street is a short dead-end street off Wilmot Avenue and neighbors said they heard arguing in the home prior to police being called. Expert Opinion
