Done on day one of the trump administration. In fact, substitute a few names, and the same could be said about the chaos going on inside the white house and the astonishingly personal blame gam game. Well get to Anthony Scaramucci and prescribes in just a moment. Kelly odonnell is at the white house, kasie hunt, our capitol hill correspondent, and chuck todd, moderator of meet the press, and nbc news political director, joins us from washington. So kelly, whats the whitehouse doing about all of this . Whats the reaction there . Reporter well, if weather is a metaphor, it is a stormy day here in washington, d. C. , with lots of rain and kind of a fog on the city. The white house is saying that it is looking to see if there is a way once lawmakers go home for at least part of their august recess we know that house members are heading out of town, but when senators have that chance to do it, perhaps well hear some feedback that might restart this in some way. Im hotold from white house of
Governing process here where hes indicated all along that hes wanted this wall money but it seemed like he would give in at some point here, except, you know, hes seemed to wake up today and finally said no, im not going to do that and, you know, you had a meeting at the white house this afternoon with paul ryan, Kevin Mccarthy and the Freedom Caucus leaders, mark meadows and jim jordan. They emeshrged from the meeting and it was clear trump was serious about the wall money in some fashion. Obviously this isnt something thats going to pass the senate. I know it just passed the house. And the reason i think it passed the house is because at this point its just sort of a political vote. Theres no real practical policy considerations here, in fact, a lot of guys who would have voted for this i dont think would have voted for it in normal circumstances if they thought this was actually going to become law. So it goes to the senate what do you mean by that . Why are people voting for it . I

The nations leaders are facing growing cries to do something after backtoback Mass Shootings claim 31 lives in texas and ohio. And today the president is defending himself by tweeting quotes from fox news. Insisting that Mass Shootings predated his presidency and again declaring himself the least racist person. Those tweets appear to be in response to an indirect condemnation from his predecessor barack obama. He issued a rare statement calling on all americans to, quote, reject language coming out of the mouths of any of our leaders that feed a climate of fear and hatred or normalizes racist sentiments. Trumps name was never mentioned but it struck a nerve at the white house. The president and his staff have been busy divorcing themselves from the kind of rhetoric that critics say led to the violence and the deaths we all saw this weekend. Looks like this dayton monster, the shooter in ohio, had a leftist leanings in a twitter feed that was complimentary of antifa and complimentary of
