Received a call from a 9yearold boy named jason, now he called 911 that day and he reported his grandfather who was having an asthma attack. During this call, she provided jason can medical instructions and assistance and most importantly comfort and reassurance. There is an added level of difficulty for her in that jason was translating for adults who only spoke chinese. Even under these difficulty situations they worked to help to insure a successful out come. Unfortunately he and his family were unable to join us today. But that is not going stop us from celebrating the fine work of this City Employee and the job that she did to save the lives here in our city. Announcement is we hope to finalize our agenda for the joint puc Environment Commission on friday. Meeting should go about up to two hours. The agenda is a joint agenda, so, you go back and forth . How does that work . So, weve been this meeting will help inform thoughts and ive had i think i had heard from maybe commissioner wald had given me some ideas. So, ideas from her and ideas here today i think give a clear sense of what to propose and ive already proposed to the Commission President some of those ideas. They wanted to hear the 100 Renewable Energy discussion, where our rules and responsibilities overlapped. The catalyst from puc, they were talking about look at food waste and someone says, well, turning food waste into energy. And then someone says, hey, lets go talk to the department of environment and the Environment Commission. Theres a whole biofuels component to what they do that overlaps with what we do. That would be worthwhile. Umhm, thats a waste issue as well where t
So, we are very grateful for the mayor and Supervisors Office for giving us the support. As you know, lawsuits can mean for a business that they have to close down if they dont have the cash to defend themselves hiring a lawyer. So, this past year alone, a lot of the Small Businesses actually have to move out of the city because of people doing driveby lawsuits. Here at the good will industry we are very grateful and one of our mission is to help people to create Job Opportunities for people who come here and work. So, one of the things that we care for is creating jobs in the city and preserving jobs in the city. So, last year we were able to have about 7,000 people just to come by and to shop for us and to provide Job Opportunities and training opportunities throughout our missions and our [speaker not understood].
