I dont recall any discussion of the campaign in any significant way. I dont believe anybody that was in that meeting would have seen or believed that i said one thing improper or unwise. And it was really a sad thing to be attacked like that. And the reason i believed i should recuse myself is because i was involved in the campaign. That debate started just a couple hours ago, the house first got through a critical procedural step earlier today, approving the rules of debate along party lines. Six republicans defected on that and voted with the democrats to disapprove it which would have killed consideration of the bill itself at that time. So right now were watching one by one as we hear from members among the moderates, the socalled Freedom Caucus, the conservatives, to get a handle on how many votes the president and Republican Leaders have.
