TinCaps take nine walks in 7-3 win over Dayton
Big hits are good, but they re even better when they come after a walk or two.
The Dayton Dragons gave up eight hits and nine walks as the TinCaps won 7-3, extending their winning streak to three games. Fort Wayne has now won five of its last six games and 10 of its last 15.
The TinCaps also had two batters hit by pitches. The number of free passes in a single game actually isn t a season record for the TinCaps, but it does continue a trend for Fort Wayne, which entered the game trailing only Cedar Rapids in that category.

The TinCaps managed just four hits in their first game at Parkview Field in nine days, falling 4-1 to the first-place Dayton Dragons despite a homer from outfielder Agustin Ruiz.
How it Happened
TinCaps starter Carlos Guarate was making his High-A and TinCaps debut and acquitted himself well. The young right-hander gave up a first-inning single, but then retired the next six hitters he faced, picking up his first strikeout at this level when he got Victor Ruiz swinging at an 81 mph breaking ball that dove down and away in the second inning.

Anderson Espinoza returned from a 10-game suspension to throw three shutout innings, Moises Lugo dominated after missing a start with a tired arm and the TinCaps snapped a three-game losing streak with a 3-1 win over the West Michigan Whitecaps at LMCU Ballpark on Saturday night.
The game was scoreless into the sixth, but the TinCaps (29-36) broke the tie when Chris Givin was hit by a pitch and Grant Little drove him in with a double down the left-field line to put Fort Wayne up 1-0. Little later scored on a Tirso Ornelas groundout to double the advantage and give Fort Wayne all the runs it would need.

The TinCaps offensive woes continued Friday night as they managed just four hits in a 4-1 loss to West Michigan at LMCU Ballpark one night after getting no-hit.
Fort Wayne (28-36) has scored just one run on six hits in its last three games and has dropped three in a row following a four-game winning streak that matched a season-high.
The TinCaps had scheduled right-hander Anderson Espinoza to start, but instead went with left-hander Danny Denz, making his second pro appearance. Espinoza, the team s top prospect, was to have been coming back from a 10-game suspension he incurred after being ejected from a game for having what the umpires deemed was a foreign substance on his glove.
