Along with hospitals and large pharmacies on the state’s list of vaccination hubs, local providers also signed up to be COVID-19 vaccine distribution sites. After a confusing set of directives from the state about who can receive the vaccine, these clinics and pharmacies have been inundated with calls from patients about being inoculated.
The Moderna version of the vaccine comes in smaller batches and doesn’t require ultra-cold storage, allowing smaller clinics and vaccines to become a distributor. Some of these clinics are giving the vaccine to the general public if they have enough supply.

Dallas County and Parkland are launching COVID-19 vaccination locations in southern Dallas to address the disparity of vaccination sites in communities that lack clinics and pharmacies. The county’s location at Fair Park began vaccinating residents on Monday.
Still, these so-called “mega sites” might not be the only answer to vaccinating some of the city’s most vulnerable residents. The Catalyst Community Foundation and Catalyst Health Network want to partner with community centers and churches to fill the large vaccination centers’ gaps, bringing smaller locations closer to more residents in a setting they trust. MOT test centres will remain open during the third national lockdown, announced by Prime Minister Boris Johnson on January 4.
The new, stricter restrictions mirror those seen during the first lockdown, but the Government says that MOT services will remain operational, unlike last year when MOT test centres were forced to close their doors, and drivers were granted a six-month MOT exemption from March 30, 2020.
MOT test sites remained opened during the second lockdown last year, as garages learned from their experiences from the first time around and have strict procedures in place that have enabled them to stay open for business, said Chris Crow, Fleet Assist s head of network.
