By TOMMY REZACSt. Joseph PostThe city of St. Joseph officially opened its search for a new police chief on February 24.The city hired Public Sector Search & Consulting, a search firm that specializes in conducting national level recruitment for police executives.St. Joseph city manager Bryan Carter says the job application for the city police chief will remain posted until April 3."Our search and recruiting firm has the job posted," Carter said on KFEQ's The Hotline. "They're receiving applications and reaching out to the resources they have to identify potential applicants who may not have identified themselves, and then get a good candidate list that they can bring back to us locally. By TOMMY REZACSt. Joseph PostThe search for St. Joseph's next police chief has officially begun.The city announced Friday that Public Sector Search & Consulting, a firm that specializes in conducting national level recruitments for police executives, was hired by the city of St. Joseph to assist in this effort.The search firm hosted multiple virtual meetings of diverse internal and external stakeholders and administered an online survey to both the police department and the community.Responses to the surveys were significant with feedback from residents, businesses, police department employees and several community partners about the qualifications wanted in potential candidates.The city hopes to announce a new police chief this spring. The recruitment profile can be found on the city's website.Dave Hart has served as the city's interim police chief since Chris Connally retired from the position this past fall.
