congressman frank pallone from new jersey for taking time to talk to us. our best to you and your constituents and everyone in new jersey. you too. thank you and keep safe. hurricane sandy has blown up all talk of campaign plans for this final week before the elections creating challenges for both sides. joining me for our daily fix, chris cizilla, msnbc contributor and managing editor of post politics.com and mark halperin, senior political analyst for time and msnbc. first of all, the president has been on a conference call with governors, with mayors from the affected area, in the white house, not campaigning. they ve canceled their ohio campaigning for tomorrow as well. joe biden also canceled campaigning. how do they handle this and then you ve got the image of mitt romney doing what they say is not a campaign event, in the same place they were going to hold a campaign event, they say they re making collections for hurricane storm relief.
this track is the wrong course for america, that this is a turning point for america, and as a result, those people in this country who want real change from day one are going to vote for paul ryan and myself. and i need [ inaudible ]. he s going to cut everybody s taxes 20%, and how are you going to pay for that? we just were told the debt was the biggest problem. if you have a hole to fill, would you dig it deeper before you filled it? president clinton and mitt romney still out on the trail today firing up crowds across the battleground states trying to keep their supporters focused on the upcoming election while national attention turns to sandy and the steady progress and joining me for our daily fix is chris cizilla and managing editor of post politics.com. and chris, while this is a complete alteration of the campaign, you ve got mitt romney canceling one more event in iowa and then cancels tonight in wisconsin, cancels all of tomorrow as does paul ryan. and they have to
hold back, wait to see what happens and then move forward. let me correct something. i was told it is restore our future, putting the $2 million ad. the pro mitt romney super pac. the latest washington post /abc tracking poll, 49/48, mitt romney by a point which is we ve had for the last three days of tracks we ve had it 49 romney, 48 obama. it s a statistical tie. we haven t had it any more of a three-point difference. we checked with the department of labor, and contrary to some reports including one of the major newspapers on-line there is no problem with the jobs report, the jobs report for good or bad is coming on friday. which they ve collected the data. which we all thought was going to be the big thing before the election, was this last jobs report. now it s a secondary story by far compared to the storm. chris cizilla, thank you so much for everything. sure. and hurricane sandy is gaining steam. this massive storm is now targeting the eastern seaboar
policy positions and matching them against their own philosophies, please. they mostly fall into a category political scientists call low information voters. the obama and romney campaigns are both courting that rarest of breeds the elusive undecided voter, believed to make up about 6% of the electorate these voters are disproportionately, white, female, lack a college education and earn under $25,000 a year. here is a man never has a problem making up his mind chris hayes host for up for a segment we call up now. i almost didn t. well, real talk. up now. talk about undecided voters. there is like beginning to see the edges of disdain for these people. i think this happens every four years. there s two sides to this. this obsessive putting on a ped da stall we get at the debates when networks will assemble these crews what do you think. and we think it s fundamentally
