Belgian chocolate brand Belcolade says it is aiming to empower and provide a living income for 50,000 cocoa farmers by 2030 and has introduced a ‘chocolate bonus’.
Belcolade, the Puratos-owned Belgian Chocolate brand, has opened a new carbon-neutral chocolate factory, running on 100% renewable electricity, sourcing 90% of its water from collected rainwater, and using five times less energy in heat production.

The company described it as a new step in its health and wellbeing journey as the chocolate is made with all-natural chicory root fibre instead of high-intensity sweeteners like stevia or aspartame.
It said the latest addition to the premium Belcolade Selection range has 40% less sugar and is 100% natural, using only clean label ingredients to create a perfectly balanced flavour with bright, fruity, and smooth roasted cocoa notes.
