HORNELL Hornell Area Transit (HAT) will not offer transportation to local establishments Saturday during the city’s traditional St. Patrick’s Day celebration.
In the past, the HAT bus has offered safe transport around the city during the celebration of all things Irish, which is one of the biggest events in the city each year. COVID-19 has altered this year’s planning, though, and the St. Patrick’s Day Parade had previously been canceled.

Andrew Cuomo to fully restore Aid and Incentives for Municipalities (AIM) funding in both the current fiscal year and the next. Mayor John Buckley said he doesn’t expect a COVID-19 relief package to be settled in Washington until the second or third week of March, leaving Hornell in the lurch as it crunches numbers for the budget.
