The Centre on Tuesday decided that CBSE Class 12 board exams would not be held this year in view of the uncertain conditions due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the feedback obtained from various stakeholders.
The Centre said that CBSE will take steps to compile the results of Class 12 students as per a well-defined objective criteria in a time-bound manner. It was also decided that like last year, in case some students desire to take the exams, such an option would be provided to them by CBSE, as and when the situation becomes conducive.

As coronavirus COVID-19 cases are slowly declining in Maharashtra, state Health Minister Rajesh Tope has hinted that Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray-led government in Maharashtra may etend the COVID-19 lockdown till May 31.
It is to be noted that Maharashtra government had imposed lockdown-like restrictions in the state from April 22 to May 1 to curb the spread of coronavirus and break the chain of transmission. The lockdown was later extended till May 15 owing to the huge spike in COVID cases and the rising death toll in the state.
