Guwahati: Campaigning for the last phase of elections in Assam coming to an end on Sunday (April 4). Both BJP and Congress alliances are conducting massive campaigns to reach out to maximum voters.
For NDA, Union Home Minister Amit Shah is holding three election rallies, while incumbent Chief Minister Sarbanada Sonowal is scheduled to hold six rallies to cover as many constituencies as possible.
BJP leaders campaigning in the state claimed that they reached the magic number to form the government in the first two phases and with the voting in the last phase they will form the government in Assam with a thumping majority, according to news agency ANI.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday attacked two new regional parties in Assam, one of them formed by a group headed by jailed peasants’ rights activist Akhil Gogoi, for their “apparent objective” to help the Congress win the upcoming Assembly polls.

Nagaon: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday said the journey the BJP started five years ago in Assam will continue till the state along with other states of the northeastern region emerges as the biggest contributor to the country s GDP.
The journey initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been taken forward by Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Shah said after attending the Mahayagya at the Shivlinga shaped Maha Mrityunjaya temple, believed to be the tallest Shiva temple in the world, in Assam s Nagaon district.
