A lengthy discussion about a proposed traffic ordinance was held during the meeting of the Marshall City Council on Monday, December 21. The proposed ordinance was changed from its original form to not allow parking on the west side to not allow parking on the east side of South Miami Avenue from West Vest to West Arrow Streets.

There were three proposed parking ordinances discussed during the meeting of the Marshall City Council on Monday, December 21.
One of the ordinances states that there will be no parking allowed along the sides of a certain portion of East Slater Street. Ward 2 Councilman Chuck Hines said he is not in favor of having a no parking zone there.
Ward 3 Councilman Charlie Guthrey said it is important to have something like this to keep traffic flowing, especially due to the presence of Spainhower Primary School and the prospect of another school being placed on the property formerly known as the Marshall Habilitation Center in the future.
