The Cornwall Police Service reported a big increase in the number of car pursuits in the city.
In 2020, there were 18 pursuits, compared to 11 in 2019, an increase of 64 per cent according to a report that was presented to the police services board on Thursday.

The largest increase was in the number of charges laid from those pursuits. There were 36 charges laid in 2020 compared to 11 in 2019.
Out of the 18 pursuits, only two were actively pursued with 16 being called off either by the officer, or dispatch.
