Portland, Ore., police officers will pair up with FBI agents this weekend to provide a larger presence in the downtown area following the killing of an 18-year-old girl and the wounding of six others in a mass shooting Saturday.
The Police Bureau s Enhanced Community Safety Team, which was formed in February to address gun violence and is made up of three sergeants, 12 officers and six detectives, has been working with the FBI to address shootings and investigations. Portland, Ore., police officers will partner with the FBI this weekend to form a bigger law enforcement presence in the city’s downtown area following a deadly shooting last weekend in which one person was killed and six others were injured. .
Police warn about May Day protests April 30 2021
According to the Portland Police Bureau, numerous activities are planned and no one has taken out a permit.
The Portland Police Bureau is warning the public about numerous potential disruptions in the city on Saturday, May 1, the traditional day of protests in the city.
According to the police, multiple gatherings are planned throughout the city. Demonstrations are scheduled to begin at noon and could last until evening.
At this time, there are no known plans or permits for street marches associated with any of the events, police said.
According to police, events are scheduled in Holladay Park, downtown, Peninsula Park, Salmon Springs Fountain, and Shemanski Park at various times during the afternoon and evening. There also is a known march/car caravan that may impact traffic downtown in the mid- to late afternoon. There may be other locations that are impacted as well since events can be fluid in nature.

Three people have been shot in three days in Atmore.
Tuesday night, the Atmore Police Department responded to 200 block of 4th Avenue where male stated he had been shot, according to Chief Chuck Brooks. ”
“According to a witness at the scene, the male victim left his residence for a short time, and when he returned, he told the witness he had been shot,” Brooks said. The victim was transported to Atmore Community Hospital for treatment.
Atmore Police are continuing to investigate. Anyone with information is asked to call APD at (251) 368-9141.
On Sunday, 28-year old Scottie Dale Robinson of Atmore allegedly shot his brother and another man in the 100 block of 6th Avenue. He was arrested Tuesday afternoon after leading law enforcement on a high-speed chase from Cantonment to I-65 near Evergreen, Alabama, where he crashed.
