VINELAND, N.J. A New Jersey police chief accused of offering one of his officers a promotion if the officer let him have sex with his wife or underage daughter should be demoted, according to findings during a disciplinary hearing.
Vineland Police Chief Rudolph Beu was found guilty of failure to perform duties, insubordination, conduct unbecoming a public employee and neglect of duty during last week’s administrative disciplinary hearing, the Press of Atlantic City reported.
The city wanted to suspend Beu for 180 days without pay but retired Judge Raymond A. Batten instead recommended only the demotion.

Judge Batten also found Beu guilty of promoting his own daughter to the Vineland police department s Juvenile Division
The hearing officer also found that Beu refused to turn over at least 19 internal affairs files that city attorneys had requested
