Enugu govt vows to provide affordable residential houses

Daily Post Nigeria Published The Enugu State government has reaffirmed its commitment to provide more affordable residential houses in the State. This is following the influx of people into the State, a situation that has tripped the cost of house rent. The government is now partnering with private companies to provide more affordable residential houses. Speaking briefly after inspecting the level of development at HELIU Estate, Port Harcourt Expressway, Enugu, the Commissioner for Information, Barr. Chidi Aroh disclosed that the State government had partnered with developers to provide houses, such as, Elim, Akpoga, Jedidia, Diamond, Legacy and many others, to provide affordable houses to Enugu residents.

Southern states dismiss blockade, North food traders insist on strike

Officials of the states including Lagos, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Delta, Enugu and Ondo in separate interviews with The PUNCH, on Monday explained their actions to ensure self-sufficiency in food and animal production. But Ondo and Cross Rivers states went further to take a swipe at the northern food suppliers, saying they would not beg the traders to end their blockade, which entered the fourth day on Monday.

By Emmanuel Acha Enugu, Feb. 25, 2021 Enugu State Government has imposed a 12-hour curfew on Oruku Community in Nkanu East Local Government Area of the state following the crisis that claimed the lives of two community leaders. The Commissioner for Information, Mr Chidi Aroh disclosed this on Thursday in a statement in Enugu. Aroh said that the curfew would become effective from Thursday Feb. 25 and terminate in March 31, 2021 after which the security situation in the community would be reviewed. He said that the curfew would be from 6pm to 6am within the said period and urged the people of the area to attend to their lawful businesses outside the affected hours.
