Chic Chef Cafe on Central Avenue in Phoenix sells spices, olive oils, and dishes inspired by hip hop. Chef Nik Fields celebrates family, cooking, and culture at her new restaurant and market.
Chic Chef Co. Marketplace offering The Chic Chef-branded organic olive oils, vinegars, spices, sauces, and kitchen supplies opened over the weekend in Phoenix's Museum District.
Nik Fields, a personal chef to celebrities (Sharon Stone to Snoop Dogg to professional athletes), is opening her own restaurant and shop in Midtown on May 15. The Chic Chef market and restaurant, located at 2301 North Central Avenue in suites 2 and 3, are two separate entities adjacent to each other.
A newly constructed 3,000-square-foot restaurant will offer an upscale atmosphere and serve high-end health-leaning foods by Fields. The neighboring 800-square-foot market will stock olive oils, syrups, spices, pasta, sauces, kitchen tools, books, and more.
Although Fields fell in love with cooking early on, the culinary world had to wait. Fields parents, from Jamaica and the Dominican Republic, expected a “real” degree. She finished high school early, attended culinary school, which took her to Italy. Then she returned to the U.S., got a master s degree, and had worked her way up to senior vice president in the finance world.
