The Plant a Seed program will involve children and their families planting a seed of their choosing, which they can take home and grow on their own. The event will include an educational discussion on plants and how they grow. A variety of seed types will be available to choose from.
Patrick Reynolds, director of public programs at the Oneida County History Center, will hold the presentation on the plan for Steuben s estate as drawn by a French architect in 1794. The drawing, owned by the History Center, is a rare example of landscape planning in early American history, officials said. The seminar will discuss how the drawing originated and the hard work that went into the plans, including connections to Rome, Whitesboro, Fort Schuyler, Remsen and Boonville.
ROME — Jervis Public Library in Rome will have a special sewing seminar next week to introduce children to the basics of using a sewing machine. Registration is required.
