BKU president Bhanu Pratap Singh alleged that the laws would lead to commercialisation and cartelisation in agriculture, affecting the country’s food security. The law would lead to dismantling of the state procurement system’s protective ring for farmers and expose them to exploitation and leave them at the mercy of an unregulated market dominated by unscrupulous big players, the plea said.
