GUANGZHOU, May 28 (Xinhua) Guangzhou, the capital of south China s Guangdong Province, reported five asymptomatic COVID-19 cases Friday, the city s health commission said.
Two of the new cases were classmates of an 11-year-old primary school student confirmed as a COVID-19 patient on Wednesday, said Chen Bin, deputy director of the commission.
The schools that have recently reported new cases have suspended offline classes and shifted to online learning as a temporary arrangement, said Chen Minsheng, deputy director of Guangzhou education bureau.
Guangzhou registered four confirmed cases and 10 asymptomatic cases from May 21 to 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Enditem
