COIN Merges Love, Religion on Indie-Pop EP Green Blue | Lifestyles

Tennessee trio COIN released EP “Green Blue” Friday, the second volume in the indie-pop band’s three-part EP series, “Rainbow Mixtape.” Adding four tracks to the four included on the 2020 EP “Indigo Violet,” “Green Blue” explores an assortment of themes from love to religion. The EP opens with “Sprite,” which effortlessly blends an angelic vocal performance from lead singer Chase Lawrence with skittering drums. Although the song’s captivating, melodic synths pulled me in, it was the chorus’s catchy lyrics that held me: “Oh, I’m just out of touch / And I’ve just about had enough.” Like the classic lemon-lime soft drink, “Sprite” left me feeling refreshed.
