ALHAMBRA (CNS) - Murder charges were filed today against a man accused of gunning down his wife and a man at an Asian restaurant in Monterey Park.
Jing Yixin, 38, of Monterey Park, made his initial appearance in an Alhambra courtroom, but his arraignment was postponed to April 19.
The defendant is charged with two counts of murder and a gun allegation. No special circumstance allegation of multiple murders is included in the criminal complaint.
The judge granted prosecutors request that Yixin, originally held on $2 million bail at Twin Towers Correctional Facility, be denied bail, according to a bailiff.

An investigation is underway after the body of a 75-year-old woman was found in a trash receptacle in a park in Los Angeles.
Los Angeles County sheriff s deputies originally responded to reports of a stolen vehicle, which the owner said went missing along with a 75-year-old family member. Preliminary information revealed foul play at the location and a stolen vehicle/missing persons investigation was initiated, the Los Angeles County Sheriff s Department said in a statement, without clarifying further.
On Monday morning, the vehicle was located in the city of Rosemead, along with a male adult who is the son of the missing elderly female.

Prosecutors with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office are reviewing the case for a midday shooting in a gated Sand Canyon neighborhood involving a retired Sheriff’s Department official and a man suspected of crashing his way into the upscale east side enclave.
The case has been presented to the D.A. regarding the Jan. 11 incident and, in the case presented, charges were recommended for the person shot and not the shooter, according to Lt. Charles Calderaro with the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau.

UPDATE: One Shot In Altercation With Retired Deputy In Canyon Country
One person was shot and taken to a hospital Monday afternoon after reportedly ramming into a gate in Sand Canyon, leading to an altercation with a retired Sheriff’s deputy in Canyon Country.
UPDATE (7:55 p.m.): Officials with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) held a press conference near the scene of the incident Monday evening to provide details on their investigation.
“Shortly after 2 p.m. today, deputies assigned to the Santa Clarita Station received a call of a traffic incident here at the front gate,” said Lieutenant Charles Calderaro with the LASD Homicide Bureau. “What we later learned is that an individual…had approached the front gate and had rammed it with his truck.”
