Real Life Church Hosts Drive-Thru ‘Night To Shine’ Prom Event
Real Life Church in Valencia is one of hundreds of churches nationwide to host the “Night to Shine” event aimed at giving people with special needs “an unforgettable prom night experience,” starting with a drive-thru event Wednesday night.
The seventh anniversary of ‘Night to Shine’ is set to be celebrated at Real Life Church in Valencia on both Wednesday, Feb. 10 and Friday, Feb. 12, as hundreds of thousands come together nationwide to “honor and serve those with disabilities.”
“Tonight we are having a drive-thru celebration for our community with special needs,” said Real Life Church Youth Experience Creative Director Victoria Mendoza. “And it’s an event where we get to give our guests the gifts that they get to use to celebrate the Night to Shine 2021 virtual event.”
Pedro’s family members confirmed his passing on Monday.
After being diagnosed in 2019, Pedro received nothing but love and support from his family and community. His fellow teammates from the Valencia Vikings football team all shaved their heads in support of Pedro’s journey.
A surprise drive-thru car parade was thrown just a few months ago for Pedro’s 17th birthday, where many of his classmates and family members attended to show support.
Most recently, a blood drive event took place last week in honor of Pedro as he had entered remission at the time as of Dec. 10.
