He tells fox news digital, quote politically inspired indictment, which could have been brought close to three years ago, was tailored for placement right smack in the middle of my Political Campaign where i am leading all republicans. The former president and 18 others face various charges individually, including violation of oath by a public officer and filing spawls documents. All of the defendants have been charged with violating georgias racketeering law, which carries a maximum Prison Sentence of 20 years. In addition to the mr. Trump, the indicted defendants include his former white house Chief Of Staff mark meadows and some of his former attorneys, including Rudy Giuliani and sidney powell. The 98page indictment lists scott mccafe as the judge who will be presiding over the judge. Appointed by republican Governor Brian Kemp and joined the
obviously helping him. the american people don t like to see this. this is what you see in a lot of other countries. you know, the willis indictment has legs in the sense that it tends to be more iron plated because these are conventional state charges. that doesn t mean that it s right. when you look at this indictment, it s charging everything. every call, every tweet, every speech. you know, the president is allowed to challenge elections. he is also allowed to be wrong. and there is no there is no clear principle or dividing line of when challenges will now be criminal and when w they will be allowable. ainsley: one more question why 18 co-defendants? what did they do wrong? i think, once again, this is a very typical approach to a racketeering case. you charge everyone. and then you pressure a lot of the co-defendants. steve: squeeze. to flip. that s what i think they hope will happen here.
