Hamilton Bookstore Adopts Pride Colors After City Denies Students Before there was ever any inkling of putting the colors up in the store, a group of students in the Bitterroot were attempting to gain permission to paint four crosswalks in downtown Hamilton with colors that symbolized the LGBTQ+ Pride flag. They created a proposal and took it to the city council. An earlier meeting indicated a large crowd would attend the regular council meeting, so they moved to a larger venue at the Ravalli County Fairgounrds this week. Many Hamilton residents spoke against and for the project. In the end, the city council denied the students their proposal, but they also effectively shut down all pavement painting within Hamilton city limits in the future and will remove any other paintings within a month.
