Singapore will not need to tighten pandemic measures even if the number of Covid-19 cases starts to rise again, Finance Minister Lawrence Wong told The Straits Times.
State President Nguyen Xuan Phuc arrived at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi on late February 26, wrapping up a State visit to Singapore at the invitation of his counterpart Halimah Yacob.
During the three-day trip, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc had a meeting with and attended a State-level banquet hosted by President Yacob. New guidance that could remove the blanket requirement for double-vaccinated NHS staff to isolate if they are a close contact of a Covid case will come within days, Scotlandâs deputy chief medical officer said on Monday.
Dr Dave Caesar said the new advice will be issued in the next day or two after it emerged that double-jabbed NHS staff in England will be allowed to carry on working in exceptional circumstances .
Under the new system South of the Border, certain staff who are contacted by Test and Trace will need to show a negative PCR test before they can resume working, followed by daily lateral flow tests.
Singapore’s Transport Minister Ong Ye Kung, as well as Singapore Airlines CEO Goh Phong Choon, are currently urging all employees of the country’s national carrier to receive their vaccinations within the next two months.
