College Town: QCC nursing students among first to administer COVID vaccine Scott O Connell, Telegram & Gazette © . . WORCESTER – Nursing students from Quinsigamond Community College were among the first medical staff in the region to administer the first round of COVID-19 vaccines last week. Eight students, along with instructor Margaret Yoder, a professor of nurse education at QCC, and fellow faculty member Christian Ilustre, helped give 100 shots to employees from Harrington Hospital in Southbridge last Friday. “Our entire college community feels tremendous pride knowing our nursing students are playing such a vital role in our nation’s history,” QCC President Luis G. Pedraja said. “So many of our students are front-line workers who are essential to the safety and well-being of our community. They emulate what it means to be a Wyvern – QCC’s mascot that is a symbol for community guardianship.”

Chandler Community Starts Giving Wall on Elementary School Fence

Chandler Community Starts Giving Wall on Elementary School Fence There s no denying that 2020 has been one for the books, most importantly it s been one for the history books.  I don t know about you, but I am getting a bit tired of living through major historical events haha!  However if I can say anything positive about this year we ve had, it s that the human spirit can really be so inspiring. We re all in a funk right now, we re straddling the line of normal, while trying to be safe during a pandemic, and it s just been rough. Not to mention many have lost jobs this year, and it s just been a really hard year for most.  This holiday season there s been a trend popping up around the tri-state and it s truly inspiring, it s a trend of giving walls.
