Visit with Virtual Santa This Summer at Holiday World [Photos]
Last week, Angel and I visited Holiday World during Media Day. We got to sample a bunch of new foods the park s serving this year (Loaded Pretzel Fries, a Caramel Apple Flurry and the insanely scrumptious Funnel Cake Fries). We also got to climb on a few roller coasters too- Raven, Legend and Voyage. And, we got to visit with Jolly Old St. Nick! This year, Santa is leaning his ear your way with a fun, new,
virtual experience. That s right! Santa is now VIRTUAL!
Now, I know what you may be thinking. You re likely assuming that Virtual Santa wouldn t be the same as sitting on Santa s lap and telling him what you want for Christmas. I ll admit it. Angel and I were thinking the exact same thing. And, yes! Even as an adult, I never hesitate for a second to plop down on Santa s lap and hit him with my Christmas wish list. When you think St. Patrick s Day, you instantly think of the color green. Green clothing, green beer, green food; just green, green, green, everywhere green. But for some, orange is the color of choice to celebrate the patron saint of Ireland thanks to its strong ties to the day.
To understand why we have to go back roughly 1,600 years to when St. Patrick walked the earth during the fifth century. Long story short, St. Patrick was a missionary from Britain who claimed he was told by an angel to spread Christianity to the people of Ireland, according to History.com. This vision happened shortly after he returned to Britain following his kidnapping by Irish raiders at the age of 16 that found him living as a prisoner on the island for six years. Personally, I would have never wanted anything to do with Ireland ever again, but when a messenger of God comes calling, you take that call.
