ST. PETERSBURG â City government, still trying to contend with the implications of Gov. Ron DeSantisâ order this week suspending local coronavirus emergency restrictions, walked back guidance it offered to businesses about the outdoor seating itâs permitted on street parking spots outside some restaurants and bars.

ST. PETERSBURG â In his final State of the City address on Friday, Mayor Rick Kriseman sharply called out Tampa Bay Rays leadership, blaming them for letting uncertainty about their future fester for more than a decade, going back to their failed bid to build a waterfront stadium in 2008.

ST. PETERSBURG â Before the COVID-19 pandemic took hold, the Sunshine Cityâs economy was âbasically functioning on all cylinders,â according to City Development Administrator Alan DeLisle.
And while the pace has faltered some, given the social distancing requirements and other restrictions put in place by local and state governments to help mitigate the spread of the virus, the cityâs economy is performing relatively well and local leaders are optimistic about the future.
