Despite pandemic, St. Petersburg leaders optimistic about economy

ST. PETERSBURG â Before the COVID-19 pandemic took hold, the Sunshine Cityâs economy was âbasically functioning on all cylinders,â according to City Development Administrator Alan DeLisle.
And while the pace has faltered some, given the social distancing requirements and other restrictions put in place by local and state governments to help mitigate the spread of the virus, the cityâs economy is performing relatively well and local leaders are optimistic about the future.
