lack of access to the voting booth, lack of jobs, to get over that, help people escape that century of built-in bad behavior and government mismanagement, you needed something like the great society. well, what we needed was equal treatment under the law. we needed the civil rights act of 1964. the voting acts right of 1965. those were needed. we got those. the problem is when the government tries to go beyond equal opportunity and ensure equal results. that s when you get into trouble. what i m arguing is black people must ultimately help themselves. they must develop the habits and attitudes and behavior that other groups have had to develop in order to succeed. and to the extent a government program gets in the way of that or hampers that self-development that must take place, it ultimately does more harm than good. in a way, you are and i think this is one of the most interesting things in your book you re trying to resurrect an intellectual tradition that has really strong
the other thing that they re going to see is the possibility of some heavy rain coming in to the area. if there are any of those bands that start to break off. and i took a look at the extended forecast for next saturday. potential for 15 and possibly 16-foot waves as there could be another cyclone forming in the central portion of the indian ocean. oh, my goodness. that hampers search efforts. also potentially could break up any debris that might be there. things will sink. smaller pieces harder to spot. good grief. okay. thank you very much, i appreciate that. so let s bring in robert goyer to talk about the disappearance of the plane. you work with pilots and aviation experts. so what are you hearing from them about what might have happened to flight 370? it s really come down to two different theories about it. number one is that, which i think is the best theory that we have to go on right now, is that someone in the cockpit initiated
employment. yeah. and if you look at the labor participation rate, which is in the low 60s, the lowest in decades. people are just not participating in the workforce. they re not able to. and many just, you know, don t even want to try to look for jobs because they haven t been able to find one. is it true that free market economies will notwithstanding bad policies by bad politicians, will eventually right themselves? well, adam smith would say so, but the problem is that we have when government hampers and hinders the economy, it s hard for the free market to right itself. we have so many we have government by regulation, by executive order, we have gridlock in d.c., huge deficit. yes, perhaps thein visible hand will work in there, but i don t know. it s being handcuffed right now. all right. you re going to talk about the wealth effect in the next hour, which is fascinating. thanks, brenda buttner, as always. you can catch brenda on bulls
outbreak that started in the middle east. 349 blood samples gathered from livestock and while quote no mers anti bodies were found from cattle, goats or sheep but in all 50 samples from camels. it seems camels were spreading the sars. i was devastated. it s not all camels. it was found in one hampers in the middle east and asian two humps are off the hook. china, the world is for once not accusing you. the testing was suspect because the 50 camels tested from the middle east, the other farm animals, goats, sheep, all of whom could be responsible were from quote several different pnetherlands, spain and chile. no other animals were tested? the same study went on to find the camels from the middle east probably caught a mars like ka
these job killing mandates and finally focus on job creation proposal. we also must repeal obama care. and a $1 trillion bomb dropped on the taxpayers that only hampers businesses and job creation. that there mainly republicans but you know, you hear that from some obama administration veterans, too. ask him okay, give me the counter factual and 09 the stimulus hadn t been done yet. most of the time health care. we were still recovering in early 2010, turn came later. i think well, the cost of all of that, cost of now focusing on jobs, health care survives the health care, it is 30 million people getting insurance. i sort of think in the long run whether obama is remembered as a great president is going to hinge on health care forum. i m always sort of surprised when folks say if he had done that could have got $150 billion more sometime us no, look, i agree. i think that this is kind of the
