Celebrating Women
New Price Center gallery show features art by women
Sunday, March 7, 2021
For the third consecutive year, art by women is the focus of a new gallery show held in conjunction with International Women’s Day, which takes place on March 8. “From Challenge Comes Change” features 81 individual works by more than 50 area women displayed throughout the first-floor galleries of the Price Center now through March 27. The show is free and open to the public daily. A virtual celebration planned for March 8 is also in production.
San Marcos, TX – Following a year of early record successes in art shows and community cultural celebrations, the Price Center’s Arts Committee has set an aggressive calendar of events and activities for 2021, including the return of an all women’s art show and more interactive collaborative community art projects.
An effort to include more cultural and heritage displays and observations has also already begun.
“It’s been an extremely challenging and very rewarding year,” said Joan Nagel, Price Center Arts Committee Chair. “From our early success in the beginning of the year with the Women’s show to the COVID closure, to the unexpected opportunity to renovate our primary gallery spaces, to a triumphant re-opening and year-end show, it’s been a year of highs, lows, and highs again,” she added.
