Aldi has unveiled “exciting plans” to open a store in Amersham. The supermarket giant is looking to open a store on the site of the former Jaguar dealership in London Road West, between the A413 and A355. Amersham residents have received a feasibility study from Aldi, which says: “A new store would provide local people with easier access to our popular, high quality, great value offer. “The proposal will enhance local shopping choice, reduce the need to travel and create at least 40 new jobs.” American burger chain Five Guys have confirmed that their High Wycombe branch will open their doors on March 15.

Bucks Council permits new homes in Butler s Cross - despite being harmful

THE demolition of a group of buildings on a ‘mixed use agricultural site’ in favour of two new homes has been permitted – despite claims it will ‘harm the surrounding area’.  Mr and Mrs Norris and St John Homes (Thames Valley) Ltd won full planning permission to bulldoze and remove the existing buildings and hardstanding on a plot of land near Chalkshire Road, in Butler’s Cross. PICTURED: The Chalkshire Road plot In their place they will erect two detached homes with access and parking. Another application suggesting a pair of semi-detached properties was refused. One property will have three bedrooms, the other two. Each will have two dormers in the front and a single-storey flat roof section to the rear.
