Asad Umar says CPEC is now entering into the most important second phase and its projects are now not limited to infrastructure only.
Says work for the provision of basic necessities, including electricity and others, at the Rashakai SEZ is underway at a fast pace.
Minister says the Century Steel, a Chinese firm, with an investment of $240 million, will set up a steel mill in Rashakai SEZ.
ISLAMABAD: Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser on Tuesday said that Press Gallery is an extension of the Parliament and we will provide modern facilities and technology to it.
He expressed these views while inaugurating the Media Centre in the Parliament House along with Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani.
He directed National Assembly Secretariat to initiate necessary steps in consultation with Parliamentary Reporters Association for upgradation of the Press Gallery.
He said that media being an important part of the state creates strong linkage between the parliament and the common people. He said the media has important role to play to propagate soft image of the country and improve governance.

Abdul Ghafoor denies receiving govt offer for Senate Deputy Chairman slot
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) leader Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri has denied receiving any offer from the government for the Senate Deputy Chairman slot.
A statement issued by Abdul Ghafoor Haideri said that no such discussion took place in the meeting with Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani. He said that the offer from the government which we do not accept is of no value.
The JUI leader said that members of all parties were sitting with the Senate Chairman and no such discussion took place during the meeting, however, after the meeting, Pervaiz Khattak spoke to the media.

CHARSADDA/LAHORE: Hectic political maneuvering is on with both the government and the united opposition engaged in a whirlwind of meetings to garner the support of political parties for election of their respective candidates as the Senate chairman and deputy chairman.
A government-sponsored delegation Sunday met Awami National Party (ANP) leadership at Wali Bagh to seek their support for the upcoming election of chairman Senate. The delegation, comprising the Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani and Minister for Defence Pervez Khattak, met ANP leaders Ameer Haider Khan Hoti, Mian Iftikhar Hussain and Aimal Wali Khan.
The ANP s newly elected Senator Arbab Umar Farooq, Hidayatullah Khan and Engineer Zmarak Khan were also present on the occasion.
