Mariners CEO Kevin Mather has resigned after making derogatory remarks during a 45-minute conversation earlier this month.
Mather, who had been with the team since 1996 and promoted to CEO in 2017, made comments on February 5 to Bellevue, Washington, Breakfast Rotary Club
His most inflammatory remarks were references to top prospect Julio Rodriguez and former star pitcher Hisashi Iwakuma and their grasp of English
Mather said Rodriguez, of Dominican Republic, didn t have tremendous, English
