sorry? i m thinking that will not happen. i don t think so. i think you re right. i think that republicans who have often railed against waste fraud and abuse are guilty of waste, fraud and abuse in this committee, having spent all this money and now this committee has gone on longer than the investigation of pearl harbor and watergate. i think peter is absolutely right. one hour in and out and they will be lucky to get out of there with their dignity intact. let s talk about trustworthiness because that s been a problem for hillary clinton. there was a certain exchange that i d like our viewers to listen to about clinton s e-mail clinton s e-mail controversy and trustworthiness. let s listen. i know that plays well in this room, but i ve got to be honest. governor chaffee, for the record, on the campaign trail, you ve said a different thing. you said this is a huge issue, standing here in front of secretary clinton, are you willing to say that to her face? absolutely.
democrats? have that carly moment and really break through and we witnessed that by the wednesday/thursday headlines? i m not sure that that s the right analogy. i m not sure that any of the others, chaffee, webb or o malley, are going to get a chance or should try and create a chance that is a fiorina moment. that was a very personal thing between her and donald trump that happened, and she was entirely justified in doing what she did, and it was smart and she pulled it off well. i m not sure that, you know, a martin o malley really stands to gain by going after, let s say, hillary clinton. i think he just needs to introduce himself to the american people, most of whom really don t know he exists yet. and the same for webb and chaffee. they just have to present their best selves and hope that people, hope the people like them. but i wouldn t look for any fireworks like you have seen with fiorina and trump. is it make or break for chaffee and webb tonight? no. there will be other
going to enter the race. i think that would have a great effect on how marty is going to fair. and he smiles. chaffee? i don t know much about the gentleman. i wouldn t want to comment on him. webb? i don t think much about him. he was in the reagan administration and now he s running as a democrat. that makes you scratch your head a little bit. are you happy the eyes of the wofrld will be on you? yes. las vegas is what it is. but people can now see that we re a serious place where you do serious business and afterwards you have a good time and what happens here stays here. more from oscar goodman, coming up. we ll be right back. it s more than a network and the cloud. it s reliable uptime. and multi-layered security. it s how you stay connected to each other and to your customers. with centurylink you get advanced technology solutions, including an industry leading broadband network, and cloud and hosting services -
venue here at the wynd hotel in las vegas. hillary clinton and bernie sanders are in the spotlight as we count down to tomorrow night s debate. but what about the other three candidates? back with me now to talk about that, anna navaro, webb, chaffee, o malley, what would you tell them to do? set that stage on fire. go from being an asterisk to being a rising star. it can be done. debates can change campaigns, can change elections, can have an effect. the last thing democrats want for the headlines to be, and cnn for the headlines to be the next day is that it was a boring as hell debate. nobody wants to hear that. so they ve got to bring some excitement. they have to make it interesting. donald said bring your a game, van. there is a pathway for martin
not doing so well in in so fast other states. a guy that is going to be careful when you ask a guy who is being careful are you a capitalist and he responds, no, i m a democratic socialist. that is not a guy going into four corners defense. that s a guy that s unlv run and gun 1975. he s going after it. well, you know, he s going after it. let s see. this is a different stage. different even from sitting down with chuck todd on meet the press . this is the big leagues right here. this is not just this is the world series. and so he s you know, he s got to be thinking about that. i, like everybody else, i m reduced to hoping that one of the nowhere men, chaffee or webb or o malley, might just decide, what the hell, i have absolutely nothing to lose and start going
