Strike is necessary. We expect to learn the results of that vote tomorrow. The Teachers Union has been negotiating with the School District for about 6 months now. Most recently the district offered 10,000 rays and 30 per hour minimum salaries for teachers who work with special needs students. But many teachers say that is just not enough. They also have an issue with paychecks not showing up on time and sometimes the paychecks dont show up at all. I know theres quite a few educator signed on our site, you, d c who had to file grievances because they havent been paid, other teachers who have taken maternity and paternity leave havent gotten paid still.
