Seasonal temperatures tomorrow. We will see the clouds start to increase in kind of infringe upon these beautiful blue skies. We do have a shower chance likely in the north bay as we get into the evening tomorrow and then looking ahead. That means your saturday starts a little cloudy. But sunday, looking like the better day of the 2 for outdoor plans. So lets talk about this excessive front. Weve seen this a few past few weeks where we get one front tracking through. That will be friday night. That gives us that north bay shower chance. And then another when tracking through as we get into monday and one more shot at a little rain in behind each of these kind of a reinforcement of cooler temperatures. But today we are warming up a bit because we are free of any front. So taking a look right now. Temperatures 68 in San Francisco or 75 in antioch. 74 in san jose. Low 80s inland sunday, 70s around the bay about 66 out of Half Moon Bay. So just to show you this weather pattern as it plays out, theres that front friday night that rolls through, then we get a pretty good looking saturday into sunday. And then by monday, another front rolling through. Now we catch the tail end of these things. And its always a question as to whether or not theyre going to hold together to bring us any rain. But it looks like we get a little bit. I think the north bay could get a 10th of an inch, but you can see elsewhere, you know, even if we look at those 2 hits of rain, were talking, you know, to one 100th of an inch. If you are in San Francisco. So what this does to is our temperatures kind of very with this. We warm up today. Then we get that front going through. We cool it down. We warm up on sunday. Then we get another front going through. We start to cool it down on the other side of that. But nothing too dramatic. And then youre going to take your piece of paper and were going to put that and tape it on the back of the box rate about their rights. Then once you do that, youre going to close the box. Stand with your back to the sun and then youll be able to look through and see the projection of the eclipse happening without hurting your eyes. There you go. Youve got a diy a way to do it. However, we are going to have some clouve mornings you can see between about 8, 30 10 30am. A little cloud cover. So could get a little tricky for us to get a great view unless maybe youre a little further inland. Ill be back a little bit. Well talk more about our forecast for now. Bianca alvarado is the first woman to have served the south bay, a Jose City Council member, vice mayor and Santa Clara County supervisor after working a local farm, she became an activist to make sure latinos got a seat at the table. Kron fours Ella Sogomonian sat down with her for a oneonone interview. You have to be most 92 years old blog about how those still makes time for her community. Affectionately nicknamed limit knot or the godmother of the san jose about has continuously been recognized for her 60 years of activism. Today we meet inside of a tuitionfree Charter School in alum her love that i get from these kids is really, really personal and im i cant speak enough about it. About other was raised by a coal miner in colorado when she was a teen. Her family came to san jose for what was supposed to be a temporary stay. While her father worked in the fields. When youve got a permanent job as a foreman, but other planted roots and went to work. She explains she was drawn to Public Service early on in high school. For the poor, we wanted to do have food drives. Clothing drives. And so our ideal, that idealism was reflected at that moment. But throughout my entire life, there has been examples of activism now myself. But in combination with movements. Later in life other married but divorced as a single mom to 5 children. She always kept a day job to support her family, but remained deeply involved in grassroots movements. She worked alongside civil rights icons like cesar chavez to help start the united farm workers union. The farm worker movement, i think activated so many was at a higher level. We had been grassroots people for a long time looking for equality and justice in pursuit our our our right to achieve elevations within society that in 1978 about other who was already entrenched in the community. Says a stranger walked into her office and introduced himself as a candidate for Council Member to represent east san jose. Thats when she says it was time to take the lead herself so that someone familiar with the people in local issues would be at the helm. I had no plans to run for the city council. Until that incident happened and that was sparked. But that was a motivator. So my understanding is the Voting System had to be overhauled so that each District Voted for their individual representatives and that thats how you were able to get elected. To break it up to the city into 10 district was the first opportunity. For people like myself from specific areas of the city to be elected, to govern. At 49 years old about other would be elected as the first latina to san Jose City Council in 1980, embodying the representation she so desperately wanted to see in local politics. She later moved on to serve as vice mayor and as a supervisor for Santa Clara County, i imagine theres a lot of pressure being the first i opened the door for a lot of people. Could that the door had been closed for a long, long time. And i think probably more important than being the first. From battling slumlords to creating a first of its kind Childrens Health initiative and building the mexican Heritage Plaza about although says shes always strive to govern by reflecting the views and the needs of the community. The cultural hub still plays host all types of festivities for everyone to enjoy. Youve served the south bay for 6 decades. Whats it like to know that the seeds are planted . Then are still bearing fruit of your labor . Have had many careers and ive done many things, but been a full life. I have no regrets about any part of but other is optimistic that the next generation be inspired to continue mission caring for the people around them. Reporting in san jose, im Ella Sogomonian 3. A trailblazer and we hope youll join us tonight for our special coverage of hispanic and latino culture. Fours theresa stasi host are hispanic month special with more stories including the bay areas first allwomen mariachi band. The program airs tonight at 06 30pm. All right. Lets check in on our forecast. Taking a live look outside of outside at the bay bridge. The embarcadero looking like a lovely day out there with just a touch of a breeze. Kyla. What else should we know . Well, we are going to hang on to these blue skies for today, but then we will see some clouds move in, but it is simply gorgeous out there right now. Wind has calmed down. We do have a little bit of a delta breeze happening there. And you see that is a little bit of offshore wind, but that should get a little bit better as we go throughout the day today showing about 14 miles per hour. Temperatures are really nice. 74 right now in san jose. Were 69 in hayward. 68 out of Pacifica Berkeley about 69 and were warming up in the north bay. Nevado just hit the 77 degree mark. So a very nice kind of average day today were inland. Were looking out for some of those low 80s. This puts us right where we should be this time of year now to get later into the day. I mentioned some clouds are going to pop up. But right now, boy, oh, boy, stormtracker 4 looking fantastic. As we zoom out there, you can see some of this kind of lurking offshore. And by the way, you can see the last system that rolled in providing some snow and a big storm system in the center of the country. Are they looking out for that Winter Weather since we had a good julian crowned, i think in california they sell the ticket. I thought we would take a look at concords forecast and do it in the lottery version here. So were going to be nice and warm today. Cooling down as we get a little shot of rain possible coming in friday into saturday. Warming up again on your sunday. And then as you can see as we get into next week, looking pretty good. But if we take a live look outside at the lovely blue skies here, i want to show you where the clouds come in, right . Because its going to be later today that we start to see thats about 09 30pm, tonight. Now, tomorrow we start off with a little sun and then heres where the front comes through. That could bring a little bit of rain to the north bay. You can see that kind of roll through rather quickly between about 05 07pm, and then it stays unsettled as we get into saturday morning by the time we get into saturday evening, we should start to get some clearing and all told its not going to be a lot of rain. So this is that first hit friday night to saturday. Theres another one expected as we get into monday about the same. So i think the north bay could pull off about a 10th of an inch of rain and thats about it. So again, it just keeps us kind it. More of that moisture laden environment, which is helpful for us here during fire season. But i think sunday will be a nice dry day for you for outdoor plans. And then well look out for another chance of rain as we get into monday. Back to you. All right. I have my jacket ready just in case. Thanks. Kyla. The San Francisco fortyniners are getting ready to face another tough challenge as they look to remain undefeated on sunday. Kron 4 sports director jason dumas has the details for us. The fortyniners were back on the practice field on wednesday as they prep for the browns and there was a new face on that practice field. Randy gregory, dani, that number 5 jersey, this was his first practice with his new squad after being acquired from denver last week. The niners you may catch a break on sunday to cleveland quarterback deshaun watson. He probably wont play. He missed practice on wednesday with a right shoulder injury, pj walker will start of watson, sits out walker has been on the practice squad all season. So theyre just skipping the Second String quarterback. But one guy who will be playing who the niners better be on high alert for. Is this guy right here. All pro defensive Myles Garrett and his 5 and a half sacks that chart today. Hes one of the most talented i think anyone seen in. The style they play on defense is very similar to ours. The rush, the passer, every play and then react everything else. Combined with short scheme and the guys around him. Thats problems, obviously the top defense right now is get could visit comes a as power is really good. And then his changeup south of those 2 things are. All he really needs. All thats your look at sports. And coming up, a touching story about half their a p why story about half their a p why it may be just what the doctor air wick.
